You do have many options for lodging on Beech Mountain. there are a number of hotels on the top of the mountain, as well as a pretty robust rental inventory, especially during the Winter.
Fair warning, if you’re used to Ritz-level accommodations, then the mountain hotels may not be up to your standards, but there are certainly options that are more than comfortable.
- This place features relatively new owners who have been working to restore this hotel and modernize it a little. You have air in the summer, wifi year round and you’re less than a 5-minute drive down the mountain to the Ski Beech parking lot. The restaurant is quite good with great service and summers are the real highlight of this place as they feature live music on their back lawn.
- This 4 Seasons at Beech is a perfect example of why I wanted to put this site together. It looks like a hotel but it’s not going to show up on any Google results and unless you know its there, you’re not likely to find it on your own while researching the mountain. These are more suites or apartments than hotel rooms, with 1BR – 4BR options through their site. Their site is pretty basic, your best bet is to probably go old-school and give them a call at (828) 387-4211. While there, check out the great Mexican restaurant, Valle de Bravo, too.
- This is a great option for a wide variety of styles. There is a nice, 3000 square foot cabin with a hot tub. There are chalets, 3 of them which can hold up to 26 guests. And there are bunk-style accommodations, almost a hostel-type of set-up which could be perfect for college kids on a budget or scout troops. You can also rent equipment like skis in the winter or bikes in the summer, eat some BBQ, and even some awesome fudge. It’s truly a one-stop shop run by a seemingly amazing married couple.
VRBO is, of course, Vacation Rentals By Owner, there are a number of sites, like Homeaway.com, that are all owned by the same company. Power User Tip: once you have initiated your search, make sure to click on “more filters” so that you can drill down into more detail on things like a view, high-speed Internet, a grill, whether pets are allowed, etc. This enables you to manage some specific requirements you may have.
In addition to VRBO, I have also used Beech Mountain Realty and Rentals. I have found that while their inventory is a bit more limited, the prices that they offer can be around as much as 40% lower than what you would pay on VRBO. They are super easy to deal with, very professional and I recommend them highly.
